WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
About Lauren
Lauren, affectionately known as Loz by family and friends was an extraordinary daughter, sister, godmother and young lady. Being a girl who loved life, with a reputation for partying hard, but a loyal and passionate friend to all who knew her. An avid Sheffield United supporter and dedicated to her chosen career as a nurse. Lauren was diagnosed with a treatable, but not curable Sarcoma in September 2014. This started a five year battle with this dreadful disease, during which Lauren never complained or let it get her down. Instead she took her family and friends on a wild roller coaster of a ride for the next 5 years, until Lauren sadly passed away on June 26th 2019. During these 5 years Lauren embarked on numerous charity raising events with her beloved motorcycle club, League Of Zeal and raised over £90,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Intent to carry on Lauren’s memory and her desire to help others, family and friends have formed Lauren’s Legacy.
Who we support
We support teenagers and young adults going through their cancer treatments by granting wishes. This may involve a family holiday, concert tickets to see their favourite band, sports events or a simple Ipad. All monies raised go directly towards the teenagers and their families. There are no wages, employees or admin costs associated with Lauren’s Legacy.
How we fund raise
Lauren’s Legacy will raise money through its annual Old Goats Grumble music and beer festival, the Grumble motorcycle Run and its annual auction. Anyone wanting to get involved, donate raffle/auction or contribute a donation towards the charity please get in touch via this page. And finally thank you Lauren for having such a positive impact on all our lives and leaving us with such great memories.
Love you forever sweetheart xxxxxxx
